HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET A PMU TREATMENT?
Persons under 18 may not be tattooed, regardless of parent permission.
It is illegal for anyone under 18 to enter or remain on the tattoo establishment's premises.
When deciding whether or not to get permanent eyebrow tinting, most people have a list of questions, and the entire procedure might seem intimidating to those unfamiliar with it. You are not alone if you don’t know what permanent eyebrow makeup entails. Before getting permanent eyebrow makeup, let’s look at the top questions people often ask.
WHO IS SUITABLE FOR PERMANENT MAKUP BROW TREATMENT?
Permanent eyebrow makeup is suitable for everyone who wants to save time in the morning, always have perfect, natural-looking eyebrows with a smudge-free effect, fill in lost eyebrow hairs, and forget about eyebrow pencils, gels, and so on.
HOW DOES THE ARTIST DETERMINE SHAPE AND COLOR?
Your artist will utilize several methods to create a brow shape as near your natural brow shape as possible. First, they will measure you based on your facial bone structure if you don’t have brow hair. Then, when you approve of the brow shape, your artist will take as much time as necessary to get it just perfect.
They will also select the right color for your brows based on your skin, hair, and eye color and apply it to your skin at the proper depth so that it remains semi-permanent for 1-2 years. Color theory is something important that our artists learn. So, there won’t be color surprises.
IS PMU HARMFUL TO YOUR NATURAL BROWS?
The short answer is “No”. While there are certain factors to consider, micropigmentation doesn’t have any long-term effect on how your natural hair grows, even if it appears your entire brow needs to be altered. Instead, they are encouraged to blend in with the stroked hairs for a more natural appearance. Only hairs that do not conform to the intended design will be removed.
DOES IT HURT?
The discomfort is relative as everyone has a different level of sensitivity. A pre-numbing anesthetic is applied for numbing before or during the procedure. Every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable. Clients are usually pleased to discover that it is no more painful than tweezing or threading. Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure. If you are frequent smoker or "sun worshiper" the topical anesthetics used may not last as long and can lead to poor retention and poor lasting results. If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.
HOW LONG IS THE HEALING PROCESS?
It is normal to experience minimal swelling and tenderness immediately following your procedure. This usually subsides within a few hours. The first week following your treatment, the pigment is very dark, 7 days later it looses up to 40% of its intensity. If you think that pigment is too dark, do not try to fade it by yourself. Be patient. Wait for 7 days until pigment fades away naturally. For how long pigment is retained mostly depends on the skin oiliness. Correction is done a month after the treatment as 10-15% of strokes are lost after the first treatment. Second enhancement session is necessary in order to achieve that richness of color, achieve symmetry and density in the shape.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
This is a multiple step appointment process. YOUR BROWS WILL NOT BE COMPLETED AFTER JUST ONE SERVICE. Two appointments are needed initially. Each of these appointments being 5-8weeks apart. At the second visit, your complimentary enhancement session, I will assess the color retention and make any adjustments necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry! We can always go bolder and add more density. A touch up once a year may be done to retain the shape and saturation of pigment.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
You will receive Post care instructions along with skin candy. It is highly beneficial to follow these instructions to ensure a comfortable healing process and to achieve the best possible results. DO NOT rub or pick the healing area as the color will peel off prematurely, and avoid extreme heat, sweating, and contaminated bodies of water (such as saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, pools, lakes and places with hot humidity, etc.)
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Permanent eyebrow tattoos can last anywhere from one to two years, depending on your skin type and how well it keeps the color, as well as how well you follow the aftercare guidelines. If you want the color to last, you should plan to have it retouched with a color booster every 12 months (it is much cheaper). Some people are lucky and get much more time out of the treatment, while others need a retouch to transform the color.
What is Ombre/Powder Eyebrow?
This form of eyebrow style does not include any hair like strokes to mimic the look of natural brow hair. Instead this technique requires complete shading of the brow, from the head to the tail. The ombre/powder brow can be compared to brows when filled in with makeup. The head starts out light and gradually fades darker all the way to the end of the tail. This style is for those looking for a fierce and sharp look.
I’ve heard some clients just do not retain pigment even after a few visits. Could this happen?
Yes, it is a possibility!
In these circumstances, a third appointment is often set up so the brow artist can review the work and sort out possible tweaks, (if any) that may need to be done. Often times, a client will cancel this appointment as the brows will just take a little extra time forming to the finished look. However, there are the occasional few that may need one or two extra strokes to finish off the look. The skin may react in a way to try and push out the foreign body of pigment by producing an extreme scab, which eventually will fall off, taking all the pigment with it. A condition of Pigment Allergy or PPD (paraphenylenediamine) can cause an adverse reaction from the dye as well as any Auto Immune diseases, which the client may not even be aware of. The skin would have over reacted and become super sensitive to the pigment and reject it at any cost.
Can you guarantee your work?
Unfortunately, we cannot. It is impossible to predict how the skin will react in each individual and many factors are taken into consideration; skin type, age, scarring, diet, stress levels, facial products used, etc. These all play a key role in how the pigment will hold, which is why it is crucial to know that more than one touch up may be required.
I treat my client’s brows as my own and offer the best possible treatment that I can. Using my experience and expertise to give the absolute best outcome possible. I guarantee to strive for complete satisfaction in the design of your brows every time. Again, reiterating that there are no guarantees in this industry. Please carefully take into account all aspects of the process and decide carefully if having your eyebrows done with permanent makeup is right for you.
WHAT ARE EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
Eyelash Extensions are individual synthetic material. They are attached to your eyelash individually not to the skin. It is a very enhancing beauty service which requires skill and precision. Size availability ranges from short to long. They can last from 6-7 weeks depending on the growth cycle of your natural lashes. To maintain the look, appointments are necessary every 2-4 weeks to replace the lashes that have shed or grown out.
DO EYELASH EXTENSION CAUSE DAMAGE?
Eyelash extensions should never hurt or cause your natural lash to break off. Damage to the natural lashes is the result of improper application, or the stylist not selecting the correct type of lash for an existing natural lash. There are a few main factors that contribute to this problem: Applying extensions that are too heavy for the natural lash that will result in premature shedding. Rubbing your eyes will also result in immediate breakage. I am properly trained and certified and I know how to select and apply the appropriate extension based on your length and strength of your natural lash. Your lash health is very important to me.
HOW LONG DO EXTENSIONS LAST?
With proper home care, the adhesive will last anywhere from 6-8 weeks. However, as with the hair on your head, eyelashes follow a natural cycle of shedding and regrowth. All of your lashes are at a different stage at any point in time, which means that some of your lashes are getting ready to fall out while others are experiencing a period growth (this is true if you have eyelash extensions or not). There are also many factors that could affect the retention including improper home care, not cleaning the lash line, oily eyelids, medications, allergies, thyroid or hormonal issues, lifestyle, seasonal changes, natal heavy lash shed and so much more. If you run into issue with retention, please contact me so I can troubleshoot and discuss next steps.
CAN I WEAR MAKEUP/MASCARA?
Water based / oil free/ extension friendly mascara that’s specifically formulated for lash extensions can be applied to the tips of the extensions. Eyeshadow and eyeliner can also be applied as long as it is oil-free and removed daily. Avoid oil based products as those will break down the adhesive faster.
HOW DO I CLEAN MY EYELASH EXTENSIONS?
It is very important to clean and brush your lashes daily to prevent eye irritation, infection, blepharitis and other eye health issues. You can use an oil-free makeup remover (make sure its truly oil free, these are the ingredients that you’ll need to look out for: any type of oil (including mineral oil), propylene glycol, P.E.G. (polyethylene glycol), any other type of glycol, any type of carbonate. If you don’t feel like carefully reading the ingredients list of every product in the store, I have an amazing foaming cleanser for purchase that is specially formulated for eyelash extensions thats gentle and safe for your natural lash and extensions adhesive.
